Why We Wrote These Guidelines

Creators waste time when expectations live in someone's head.

We want you spending your energy on making great work, not decoding vague asks, guessing the goal, or redoing drafts because direction arrived too late. Writing this down protects your time and protects the work.

Our Creator Guidelines In 5 Principles

Clarity: We define the target before you start. No "just vibe it."

Speed: We keep loops short. Early drafts beat late surprises.

Ownership: You own execution. We own direction. We solve problems, not assign blame.

Respect: We treat creators like professionals: clear asks, clean notes, reasonable timelines.

Feedback: Feedback is a tool. It should be specific, actionable, and tied to the goal.

Clarity: What We Send, What You Do

A good brief works like a roadmap. It aligns objective, audience, and deliverables so you can execute without guessing.

You can expect briefs that include the goal (what success means, like clicks, saves, or applications), the audience (who it's for and what they already believe), the deliverable (format, quantity, required elements), constraints (what to avoid based on brand and platform rules), and examples (references for the vibe and the bar).

We ask you to confirm you understand the goal and deliverables, ask questions early if anything is unclear, and flag constraints before starting (time, tools, location). Clarity is not "extra." Clarity is faster.

Speed: Fast Loops, Clean Handoffs

Speed isn't panic. Speed is fewer surprises.

We move fast by keeping the process simple. Draft early when you're unsure, flag blockers immediately including what you need to proceed, and keep versioning clean (V1, V2, Final). The goal is momentum without chaos. Quick check-ins beat late-stage rewrites.

Ownership: Your Lane, Our Lane

Ownership is how a team stays respectful. Everyone knows what they're responsible for, and nobody has to mind-read.

Creators own:

  • Execution and deadlines
  • Clean versions and exports
  • Proactive communication

Clouted owns:

  • Clear priorities and decisions
  • Notes that tie back to the brief
  • Respectful collaboration

If something breaks, we fix it together. No silent confusion.

Feedback: Specific, Not Personal

We aim for feedback that's behavior-based and tied to impact. That's why models like Situation–Behavior–Impact (SBI) are useful: they make notes clear, actionable, and respectful.

Not helpful:

  • "Make it pop."
  • "This is off."
  • "Make it more viral."

Helpful:

  • "Hook is unclear in the first 2 seconds. Add a one-line premise on screen before the first cut so viewers know what this is about."
  • "Pacing drops after point one. Remove the pause and jump cut into the example."
  • "CTA is buried. Add a direct CTA on-screen in the last line and mirror it in the caption."

What To Do When You Disagree With Feedback

Respect goes both ways. If you disagree, state your reasoning clearly, propose an alternative, and tie it back to the goal (not preference).

Example: "If the goal is applications, I think version B will convert better because the CTA is earlier. Want me to ship both so we can compare?"

Respect: How Great Work Stays Repeatable

Respect isn't "being nice." Respect is operational: clear expectations, honest feedback, clean communication, reasonable timelines, and no guessing games.

Google's team effectiveness research highlights psychological safety and structure/clarity as key dynamics in effective teams. In practice, that means creators should feel safe asking questions, flagging issues early, and iterating quickly, without getting punished for being honest.

That's the standard: clear collaboration and fast iteration.

What Success Looks Like In 1-2 Weeks

A realistic picture of a strong start:

Week 1

  • You understand the brief and constraints
  • You submit clean V1 drafts on time
  • You apply feedback quickly and ship improved V2

Week 2

  • You start spotting patterns in feedback
  • Your first drafts get tighter (fewer revision rounds)
  • You take more ownership: you flag improvements before we ask
